He was a plank owner of the Boston, serving from 6-30-43 until he separated from the Navy in February 1946. He died in 1993.

What a gift! This is my grandfather! I know my parents were thrilled to have been in touch with the both of you but I’d forgotten to come back and see any of the photos. Mom mentioned the new book and so I thought I’d browse through the blog and found this. I’m sure I’ve seen these photos before but not living near my parents, I don’t get to see them very often nor have I showed them to my boys. Now, I can see him whenever I want. And darn it if he doesn’t look as happy as could be!
